USB Device not being detected? Try these tips first

Before you pull your hair out trying to figure out why your USB device is not being detected by Windows, try these simple tips that might help with your problem:

  • Turn the USB device off and back on
  • Unplug the USB device from the computer and plug it back in
  • Try a different USB cable
  • Try a different USB port
  • If you have your USB device plugged into the front USB ports, plug it into one of the USB ports on the back of your computer
  • Restart your computer

You will want to try all the above before thinking that there is something wrong with your USB device.
